New Direct-to-Wi-Fi Display for the AcuRite Atlas® Weather Station

AcuRite Team |

Direct-to-Wi-Fi Display for the AcuRite Atlas™ Weather Station

We are excited to announce the launch of the new Direct-to-Wi-Fi Display for our highest quality, most durable, and most accurate home weather station, the AcuRite Atlas™. This new display allows you to easily connect to My AcuRite and Weather Underground directly from the display! You’ve asked for it, and we’ve listened! The Direct-to-Wi-Fi Display for the 5-in-1 weather station was well-received by our customers last spring, so we’re excited to now offer the Wi-Fi Display for the Atlas.

Remember, this will only connect the AcuRite Atlas™ to the My AcuRite Weather App. If you have other AcuRite home monitoring sensors reporting to My AcuRite, you’ll still need the AcuRite Access™ to keep those sensors connected and reporting for remote monitoring and weather data collection. Upgrade your AcuRite Atlas™ display today to get your personal weather station online and reporting to join the fun of online weather monitoring tools and remote monitoring through My AcuRite.

What’s your weather story? Where is your AcuRite Atlas™ wireless weather station mounted? How do you use your AcuRite weather data? Here’s what people are saying about the Atlas and how customers are enjoying the Wi-Fi display for the 5-in-1; we’d love to hear from you, too!

Kudos to AcuRite for making the Direct-to-WiFi display available during these difficult times! I was bummed when I missed out on beta testing, but now that it’s available I’m seriously thinking about upgrading to an Atlas from my 5-in-1 station. I have been a happy 5-in-1 station owner for about four years now, but the UV sensor and integrated lightning detector of the Atlas are really attractive to the “prothusiast” in me. AcuRite’s weather instruments represent the best balance between sophistication and accessibility for that person who wants to be an “advanced hobbyist meteorologist.”

This new Direct-to-WiFi display addresses several “wish list” items that I have with my current 5-in-1 system and display. First, I was pleased to see an integrated battery backup in this new display. My old system lacks a battery backup, so I would lose my settings and weather records when the power went out. The new battery backup also keeps your system up and running so you can monitor wind, lightning, etc when the power is out…which is exactly the time you’d to see the data from your station! Second, automatic firmware updates via WiFi – wonderful. Older systems like mine have impossible-to-upgrade firmware, so they’re stuck with certain bugs. AcuRite has recognized this issue and made the important investment in this new feature.

Keep up the good work, AcuRite! Looking forward to even more new products in the future!

Will,

DOES THIS SYSTEM UPDATE IN SECONDS OR DOES IT TAKE MINUTES AS IT DOES NOW ON THE PHONE AND LAPTOP APP

JOHN CUMMINGS,

I just bought and installed this new wifi display. It works well and as advertised. However, I have one suggestion… make the wind speed and temperature font bolder. Although this display is the best overall looking and the highest resolution display, it is much harder to read than the two previous AcuRite displays from across a room (distance of greater than 15 feet). Maybe this can be done with a firmware update, then I would give this display a 5 stars.

Dave,

will the new display work with old transducer

mitchell weisman,

How do you get the old sensors to pair with the new display?

Chris Kimball,

Question: I have both an Atlas and a 5-in-1 station connected through the Acurite Access. Under that combination, I had to pick which one transmitted to Weather Underground. Are you saying that by utilizing the Direct to Wi-Fi with the Atlas, that I could now have BOTH the Atlas and 5-in-1 reporting to Weather Underground simultaneously?

Mel,

I want one weather station, I live in Lebanon

elias harika,

Is it possible to hook multiple displays to read the Atlas sensor? For example, if I wanted to use 1 (or 2) of these new 6099M Direct-To-Wifi displays at the same time (maybe only one is reporting via WiFi) would that work? What about one 6099M Direct-To-Wifi and one of the older 6061M Atlas HD displays?

Also, are you planning a signal extender for the Atlas?

Matthew,

Does the rainfall accumulate for 24 hours and then after that 24 hours will the “Today” section of the display zero out to 0.00" to begin the next day’s rainfall?. If so, what 24 hour period is used, or is it configurable? My HD display drives me crazy because it never shows 24 hour rainfall if there are prior day’s rainfall. Overall love my Atlas w/HD display except for this issue and no battery backup.

Roger,

Merhaba Atlas istasyonunu Amazon dan aldım. Türkiye de yaşıyorum. My acurite de lokasyon olarak Türkiye yok. İstasyonu çalışır mı.

Cemal,

Was this display discontinued? I cannot find any information about it except for this blog.

Matthew Desiato,

Should the sensor be mounted as high as possible or does that matter? One suggestion for this forum is maybe have the comments sorted by newest to oldest rather than oldest to newest:? Thank you.

Robbie,

Will my new Atlas weather station connect to my old Iris display?

Darold,

How do I change the IP address or name, this seems to be able to hack from a unsecure network broadcast. a neighbor can lookup the standard IP and just connect to this and grab all of the settings ID info, etc once I enter it in. How do I secure this.

willie,

What is the number that appears on the screen near the forecast. For example 12/6

Luis,

Just installed this as a replacement for the Iris. I had been thinking of defecting to the Tempest, but I like the active displays Acurite has, and they don’t have those.
It looks like the sensor is twice the Windage which time will tell – guess I will see how strong my aluminum pole is. I lost one of my older sensors when it blew 20’ down onto the parking lot. I am just getting used to this new display, but one gripe I have is that you took away the ability to have millibar display along with Imperial for the rest of the readings. That seems rather petty, you did allow modification for Knots, for example. is there not a way to change this, or can it be included in a firmware upgrade? Barometric pressure in inches is so archaic.
